Survey Reveals Hair Styling Habits

Results of the 16th annual Sally Beauty Best Tressed Survey reveal the thoughts of 1,000 women as to 2009’s best and worst celebrity hairstyles—and also provide insight into everyday women’s own styling habits. The survey asked American women to vote for the best and worst celebrity hairstyles from the past year.

Jennifer Aniston came in at the No. 1 spot for women, followed by Taylor Swift and Rihanna. George Clooney led the men’s category, which also included Mario Lopez and Zac Efron in the top three. When it came to the worst hairstyles of the year, Lady Gaga led the pack for women, followed by Kate Gosselin and Lindsay Lohan. Lil’ Wayne drew a thumbs down on the men’s side, along with Jon Gosselin and Brad Pitt.

During the voting, survey participants were also asked about their own styling habits.The results:
— 45% of women have more than ten beauty products in their
bathrooms.
— More than 20% of women wear a hair accessory a few times a
week.
— 31% of women wash their hair every other day.
— 56% of women color their hair either in the salon or at home
— Over 55% of women work out without their makeup on.
— 32% of women spend an average of 10 minutes on their hair every
day.


The Sally Beauty Supply Best Tressed Survey polled results from 1,000 women and was conducted by MarketTools, Inc. The survey ran from December 12, 2009 to December 14, 2009.
